Whole Foods 365 Everyday Value Products

I love finding a good deal, and have done just that at (would you believe) Whole Foods Market.  I have friends who call the pricey, natural foods retailer “Whole Paycheck,” because ‘deals’ are not what they’re known for.  But leave it to me, The Beauty Bargain Hunter to find a beauty deal at Whole Foods!

The product line is called 365 Everyday Value Products (their own private label) and features everything from food, beverages, supplements and, of course, premium hair and body products.  The beauty category consists of shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, and body lotion.  I’ve tried them all and love them!  Especially for the price, a whopping $3.99 for 16 oz.

The Whole Foods product development team spent a year reformulating these products which now boast a formula free of all the ‘nasties’: synthetic fragrance, parabens, polypropeline, and polyetheline glycol.  It’s the avoidance of these ingredients that drives up the price of other “natural” beauty products.  Surfectants, the ingredients that make products lather up, are difficult to source at budget prices and still have good quality.  Whole Foods has managed to do both.

All four products in the line come in three naturally-derived fragrances: Citrus Grapefruit, Herbal Mint, and Lavender Blend.  There’s even a fragrance-free option!

Compare to-AVEDA Rosemary Mint Shampoo, Conditioner and Body Lotion $10.50-$21.00.

The Bottom Line-gentle, effective and affordable hair and body care ~ without all the ‘yucky’ synthetics.  I’m a fan!

Lose Sulfates, not suds!

For all of you readers that are fans of “Pureology” hair care products, listen up!!  Loreal has launched “EverPure” Sulfate-Free Color Care System.  If you color your hair, this shampoo & conditioner duo are a must-have!  Sulfates are inexpensive detergents (harsh cleansing agents) that make shampoo foam up.  That same detergent can strip hair and fade your color and vibrancy (yikes!!)  Despite the absence of sulfates, EverPure serves up a rich, luxurious lather, due to naturally-derived surfactants.  Since I color my hair about once a month, I decided to try the ‘moisture’ system and loved the way my hair felt after I dried it—soft & smooth, but not limp!  Also, the  fragrance is refreshing–rosemary & juniper!  Loreal claims that EverPure will keep your color ‘pure’ even after 32 washes.  Though I’m only on wash 6, my color still looks fresh!  The shampoo and conditioner are available in Moisture, Smooth and Volume Systems.  Each system offers a stlying product (or two), from a frizz-free serum to a leave-in conditioner and moisture mask.  Compare the very affordable $6.99 price tag to a more expensive sulfate-free brand like John Masters Organics or Ole Henrickson!

The Bottom Line–an anti-fade system and UVA/UVB filters that protect your color at an amazing price!  Best of all, no sulfates or drying ‘salts’.  Run, don’t walk to your nearest drugstore!  Because…you’re worth it!
